Use this form if your child will be starting P1 or S1 in August 2025 and you
- are moving to a new address in the City of Edinburgh area before 31 July 2025
- have been asked to do so by a member of the Schools Transactions team.
We aim to respond to your application within one month.
Check your catchment school first
You can check on our catchment map (opens in a new tab).
Roman Catholic schools are open to all children regardless of faith. However, if there are more children in the catchment area than the number of places available, we will give priority to baptised Roman Catholic children.
If you apply after 24 December 2024, we may not be able to guarantee you a place in your selected catchment school. If this happens we will allocate a place in the nearest available school.
Before you start
Read the Placing in Schools guide. Section 9 covers moving address. Section 5 covers how we deal with admissions to RC schools.
We ask for proof of your new address. You can upload documents to provide proof of address. You may want to scan documents before you start the form. This may include
- tenancy/rental agreement or confirmation tenancy has ended
- solicitor's letter confirming purchase or sale of property
PDF files are best for scanned documents.
If you don't upload the documents here you can send them to us later. We will contact you if we require any further information.
You need to tell Council Tax about your new address
