Get involved in housing issues
Get involved, have your say and make a difference to your housing services.
Join the City of Edinburgh Council tenants' panel
Join the tenants' panel to let us know your views and help check and improve housing standards and services.
We invite you to take part in different ways. We may ask you to
- fill in a survey
- join a discussion
- go on an estate walkabout
- go to a conference.
It's up to you how little or how much you take part. Any tenant and their family members, 16 plus and living with them, can join.
If you are a Council tenant interested in joining the tenants' panel you can contact us on
0131 529 7805.
You can also join the Scottish Housing Regulator's National Tenants' panel to provide feedback on landlord services at a national level.
Set up a tenants' group
Join your local tenants' group to help improve housing services. You can set up a group if there isn't a group in your area, Edinburgh Tenants' Federation can help.
Tenants' groups with Council tenants can register with us as a Registered Tenants Organisation (RTO). RTOs have a legal right to be informed about and consulted on changes to housing management and services.
RTOs can join Tenants Together Scotland to communicate with the Scottish Government. Membership is free. Anyone interested in becoming a member can email info@tenantstogether.scot to find out more, or stay up to date with their work by signing up to its newsletter at www.tenantstogether.scot.
We provide small grants to help with the costs of running a tenants group. You can apply if your group involves tenants in Edinburgh Council and operates in Edinburgh.
