Burdiehouse to Mortonhall - walking, wheeling and cycling improvements

How we have engaged with the local community

In June and July 2022 we asked for your views on our proposals.

We engaged in these ways

  • information on the project website
  • online and paper surveys. With 217 surveys completed
  • 3,605 leaflets distributed to residents in the project area
  • lamppost wraps displayed along the A701 and B701
  • primary school activity pack to engage local young people, including a short questionnaire, individual and group activities and a parent/guardian information sheet
  • community drop-in event at Valley Park Community Centre on 30 June 2022. Over 50 people attended.

The survey told us that

  • 57% of respondents support or strongly support the proposed cycle track along Burdiehouse Road
  • 60% of respondents support or strongly support the proposed improvements to Kaimes junction
  • 58% of respondents support or strongly support the cycle track along Frogston Road East
  • 62% of respondents would support an active travel link between The Limes and Murrays

All of your feedback has been collated and reviewed and has helped us shape future plans for the Burdiehouse area and we continue to work with stakeholders to develop the final design proposals.
