Unfair Treatment of Independent City Centre Takeaways - Petitions (Invalid)

Petition details
We, the independent takeaways of central Edinburgh, object to the preferential treatment given to the retail chains in licencing hours of trade.
We see the chains of shops owned by companies such as Dominos, MacDonalds, Tescos and all-night garages in the city centre (Category 1) getting Council licences to 5am.

Independent takeaways like the kebab shops and other small hot food retailers can only get a licence to 3am. This makes it harder for us to compete.

We call on the Council to treat all Category 1 outlets the same, no matter how big or small their business may be. The Council should set a closing time of 3.45am for all.
