As a symbol of the overwhelming support for the European Union within the city of Edinburgh we, the undersigned, call on the City of Edinburgh Council to fly our international flag of the European Union over the City Chambers. We further call that this flag should not be removed unless it becomes clear that we no longer wish to be part of the European Union; or have been taken out of it against our will. We further call on the Council to do all within its powers to promote a good relationship between the European Union and the City and to assure all immigrants that they are welcome here as our equals.

Following receipt of a petition entitled ‘Fly the EU Flagover the City Chambers’ on 30 June 2016 the LordProvost agreed to fly the flag from the City Chambers.As the purpose of the petition had been met the PrincipalPetitioner requested that the petition be removed fromthe website and no further action should be taken
