The cobbles are a tripping hazard to pedestrians, particularly the disabled, and a slipping hazard to cyclists on wet days. The surface represents an increased likelihood of personal injury claim.
The road is a very rough surface compared with tarmac. The noise vehicles make when they pass wakes sleeping residents with bedrooms facing the road. They also cause an increase in repair bills for resident's vehicles.
Finally, they create longer stopping distances, particularly on wet days, for cars outside St. Mary's primary school. This is an additional risk to St. Mary's school children. - Petition Status
