To protect, preserve and promote the history and heritage of Newhaven-on-Forth. We want to develop a sense of belonging in the area of the old village of Newhaven and the new development of
Western Harbour.
Interested in the preservation and promotion of Newhaven’s rich heritage and history. The preservation of old Newhaven’s photographic and documented records. The creation of a genealogical database of the people of
Newhaven. The encouragement and rebuilding of a self-supporting community and building a close relationship with the diaspora of Newhaven.
The enhancement of the environment of the old village. The preservation and improvement of the ecological health of the waters of the Forth in the area.
Activities include maintaining an outreach base at the old police box at Newhaven Harbour,
meeting and greeting visitors to Newhaven and welcoming new residents to the area who stop to talk, and the maintenance and development of virtual heritage trails, e.g. “Newhaven: A Stravaig Through Time”
