Description of the group
Police Historical Society that exists to identify, locate, record, interpret and preserve artefacts, photographs and documentation, relating to the history of policing in Edinburgh, the Lothians and Peebles and the Borders. Its aim is to ensure that the heritage of policing in the south east corner of Scotland and the Scottish Borders is remembered, preserved and maintained.

Group interests and activities
The Society exists to identify, locate, record, interpret and preserve artefacts, photographs and documentation relating to the history of policing in Edinburgh, Lothian & Peebles and the Scottish Borders. Activities include displays in local museums and places of interest; presentations on life as a police officer to groups/individuals; submission of articles to appropriate publications; assistance and advice to Police Scotland on historical issues.
