Introduction
This guide provides information for customers on the pre-application advice service offered by the City of Edinburgh Council. Pre-application advice gives customers who anticipate making an application for planning permission to the Council the opportunity to receive feedback on their proposals before making the application. This can help the customer to improve the quality of their application, avoiding wasting time and money.
Pre-application advice is provided strictly without prejudice to the planning authority’s determination of any subsequent planning application.
Pre-application information may be subject to requests for its release under The Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004. Under these regulations, there is a strong public interest in favour of disclosure.
