The United Kingdom Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) is a central pillar of the UK Government's Levelling Up agenda and is providing over £2.6 billion of funding for local investment across the country by March 2025. We have an allocation of £12 million for the city. The primary goal of the UKSPF is to build pride in place and increase life chances across the UK. Underneath this overarching aim, there are three Investment Priorities:
- Community and Place
- Supporting Local Business
- People and Skills
Funds were commissioned through a competitive application process which took place in 2022. Forty-two successful projects are now receiving grants:
- 14 with a focus on Communities and Place
- 6 with an emphasis on Supporting Local Business
- 22 with a focus on People and Skills.
We work in partnership with Capital City Partnership to manage the delivery of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund programme. Capital City Partnership is one of our arms-length organisations, working to tackle inequality and poverty. Read more about the programme and the portfolio of projects.
