Our vision for Lothian Road
We want Lothian Road to be safer, more accessible, efficient and comfortable for everyone while remaining a key transport link.
Giving more space for walking, wheeling and cycling will
- encourage people to spend more time there
- support local businesses and the vibrant night-time economy
- enhance its focus as a cultural hub and gateway to the World Heritage Site.
The project will help us deliver our City Centre Transformation strategy and supports our drive to be net zero carbon by 2030.
Any future changes will benefit anyone who lives, works, visits or travels through the area including:
- residents
- businesses
- workers
- pedestrians
- people with a disability or mobility issues
- cyclists
- anyone using public transport
