The Low Emission Zone support fund for businesses (funded by Transport Scotland and administered by Energy Saving Trust) will close to new applications at 5pm on 18 December 2024. If you’re interested in this funding, please make sure you apply before this date.
Retrofits
The Clean Vehicle Retrofit Accreditation Scheme (CVRAS) is managed by the Energy Saving Trust and is intended for eligible businesses to retrofit their vehicles. Individuals may not apply and cars may not be retrofitted under this scheme. Support through this scheme is for eligible business and commercial vehicles only:
- Taxis
- Light commercial
- Heavy goods
- Refuse collection vehicles
- Certain vans
Grants of up to 80% of the cost of a retrofit solution are available to eligible businesses, up to a value of
- £5,000 per light commercial vehicle and wheelchair accessible taxi installing retrofit exhaust after-treatment systems
- £16,000 per heavy goods vehicle or refuse collection vehicle.

Funding
Grants of up to £3,000 are available to eligible businesses and sole traders living within 20 km (12 miles) of the LEZ. This includes
- £2,000 for disposing of a vehicle which does not meet low emission standards at an authorised disposal centre
- £1,000 towards a cargo bike or e-cargo bike.
