Council leader asks everyone in the city to engage with The Regional Prosperity Framework, a draft plan to build the economy of the City Region.
Council leader Adam McVey also comments on a press release issued by The Edinburgh and South East Scotland City Region Deal which covers everything from transport and housing to education and digital inclusion, economic development and climate change.
You can give us your views from today (Monday 14 June) until 26 July on the draft plan here.
Cllr McVey said:
The Edinburgh City Region has a strong economy and through the City deal and other programmes, we’re working to ensure the economic opportunities in and around our Capital City are available to everyone. The world is changing at a pace and our economy has to keep up if we’re to continue to meet the needs of our residents.
I’d encourage everyone across the city to have their say on the economic future set out in this document, and help shape inclusive growth in Edinburgh and South East Scotland in the coming years so we can implement innovative joined up policies to make us resilient to change.
This includes tackling the twin threats of poverty and climate change to ensure everyone’s wellbeing is at the heart of how our Capital changes. The document, when agreed, will be produced so it can easily adapt to future needs as the last year has taught us all how quickly life in Edinburgh and the wider world can change. Please respond to the consultation to help us plan for our future.
