Preparations are in place across Edinburgh to minimise the impact of storms Dudley and Eunice.
Several services closed early on Wednesday for the safety of staff and visitors in advance of an amber warning for wind, which came into force at 2pm.
The City Art Centre and Museum of Edinburgh closed this afternoon and will reopen at 1pm tomorrow (Thursday). Lauriston Castle and Princes Street Gardens shut this afternoon and will remain closed on Thursday.
Household Waste and Recycling Centres have closed and people are being advised to rebook their slots online. Nurseries shut early on Wednesday too. In addition, the Council’s Taxi Examination Centre was closed this afternoon.
Mobile testing units were closed on Wednesday afternoon though community testing centres remain open. Find the latest information on testing on the Council website.
People are being encouraged to take extra care and plan any travel ahead as disruption is expected – Scotrail has terminated all central belt services from 4pm.
The Council’s Forestry Service has also published advice should anyone have concerns around trees, including hanging branches and trunk movement, encouraging them to contact the service.
