Plan for improving multi-agency response to Community Safety and Community Justice published

Edinburgh Community Justice Outcomes Improvement Plan 2023 - 2028

The recent publication of the Edinburgh Community Justice Outcomes Improvement Plan aims to strengthen how partners in the Capital work together to reduce re-offending, and improve the lives and life chances of people in the justice system and those being supported to successfully rehabilitate them into their local community.

Published by the Edinburgh Community Safety and Justice Partnership, the plan’s priorities are informed by the new National Strategy for Community Justice, feedback from people using our services, practice evaluations and building on activity delivered under the previous plan.

Over the next five years the service will work to improve:

  • early and effective interventions
  • established accessible pathways to trauma informed services
  • community support methods to reduce reoffending

Cllr Tim Pogson, Chair of Edinburgh Community Safety and Justice Partnership said:

The publication of the plan is an important milestone in our continued commitment with partners to provide these important services and deliver our work to reduce re-offending. It is vital that we continue to work to improve the lives and life chances of people in the justice system and through this five year plan we hope to improve our justice services which will benefit the whole community.

I’d like to thank all our partners and contributors for this plan and look forward to working together in the coming years.
