We receive numerous requests for parking restrictions across the city and with limited resources we will prioritise areas that have potential safety concerns.
Concerns may include
- Emergency Services not being able to attend an emergency.
- Waste Teams not being able to collect bins
- Where parked vehicles cause drivers and pedestrians restricted views at junctions causing a safety hazard for road users.

Information required
- Why are you requesting a yellow lines?
- Exact location of the parking issue on the street.
- When does this issue occur, is it a weekend or evening problem.
- Is the location within a Controlled Parking Zone.
Next steps
We will inspect the location and gather information from other agencies, this will be presented to our Parking Group for discission and will either be agreed or rejected.
If your enquiry is agreed
The location will then be submitted to our Traffic Orders team to be added into a Traffic Regulation Order, this process will take 12 to 18 months to complete which includes public consultation.
