That’s why it’ll be key for Essential Edinburgh and other organisations to get the buy-in of affected businesses in the plans and discussions.... People will look forward to planning a trip into town or to their local high street for a bite to eat and a browse round the shops, giving a much longed-for lift to our local traders.

We will provide more walkway space on each of the event dates listed below and will be closing Coates Gardens at its junction with Haymarket Terrace at 12 noon each day and reopen at midnight.... if they have any local shopping events/initiatives that we can help to promote.... Unfortunately, this is later than planned due to the length of time needed to complete work on the installation of the setts.
