  • Have your say on the future of Winter Festivals in the Capital

    Originally planned for Spring 2020 the delivery of the consultation was delayed due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and suspension of all public consultations.... We are engaging in an open public conversation about the future of these events, with opportunities to respond online or in written form.... The consultation will close on 19 May and the outcomes will be presented to both the Festivals and Events All Party Oversight Group and to the Culture and Communities Committee later this year.

  • Council makes £12m bid to boost community projects

    A ‘Residents First’ programme of exclusive access to cultural events is also planned, alongside a new youth work space and events for older people at risk of social isolation.... Following the submission of the Council’s investment plan, there will be negotiations with the UK Government before initial funding can be released.

The city was decorated for the occasion and a large programme of events was planned.... A programme of events was organised including Royal Processions through the city and fireworks on Calton Hill.

  • Edinburgh launches new initiative to support the hard-hit tourism and hospitality sector

    The ForeverEdinburgh campaign has been developed by the Edinburgh Tourism Action Group (ETAG), working closely with the City of Edinburgh Council and industry partners from across the sector, including hoteliers, visitor attractions, bars and restaurants, events and festivals and transport.... A new website soon to be launched, will provide information to help people plan their visit responsibly as well as recommend things to see and do and, for those from further afield, where to stay.... Edinburgh Capital Group members are delighted to cement their role as reasons to visit Edinburgh by being part of Team Edinburgh’s #ForeverEdinburgh campaign and hope it will encourage locals to get to know their beautiful city better and the array of attractions, tours and events it has to offer.

  • City Art Centre Reveals Exhibitions Programme for 2023

    Further information on the individual exhibitions, including a varied public events programme, will be announced later in the year.... The City Art Centre has been planning the exhibition since 2019, working closely with Howson and his London representatives Flowers Gallery.... The City Art Centre is one of the most accessible places in Edinburgh for art lovers, with five packed floors of exhibitions and a popular events programme and I would encourage everyone to pay us a visit.

The city and events sector has responded to the ongoing pandemic with determination and innovation with hybrid models of delivery such as the creation of outdoor/online programmes.
