    At a meeting of the City of Edinburgh Council today (November 2) the Lord Provost gave a short statement on events in the Middle East, and led a one minute's silence for all victims.... Before the formal agenda starts, I think it is important to say a few words about the horrific events in the Middle East.... I'm sure everyone in the Chambers calls on all parties involved in the terrible events to respect international law and for those who breach it to be brought to justice.
