We are frequently asked about Scottish Government or specific governing body guidance for activities such as professional/non-professional sport, performing arts and events for adults/industry.... The current position and principles regarding extra-curricular activity are that it’s: • essential for literacy, numeracy, and health and wellbeing • important for your child’s learning, development and wellbeing (for example part of a pupil’s plan and can be justified by using appropriate risk mitigations) • something that can safely take place within school as an extension to school learning because the R number suggests it is safe to do so, following the relevant guidance There is a hierarchy of risk which takes account of activity taking place indoors/outdoors and whether it is exertive or non-exertive.
