Free period products
Local authorities across the country have been given a budget to provide free period products, plastic-free tampons and pads in public buildings. Edinburgh Council has rolled this out to a range of buildings across the city, e.g., libraries, Community Centres, Edinburgh Leisure, schools, further education colleges, museums, and galleries. Reusable period cups can also be found in libraries and community centres and reusable pants and pads will be piloted with a view to making them widely accessible. These should be easily available to pick up near the door and in toilets, to respect privacy.
