Notification of changes to traffic management at Foot of the Walk to enable site extension
More details on changes at the Foot of the Walk traffic management changes.
There will be changes to the traffic management at the Foot of the Walk junction adjacent to Duke Street/Great Junction Street junction. These changes will be implemented from Wednesday 11 August 2021 to extend the site at Foot of the Walk to progress works. Pedestrian access will be maintained during these works, including access to local businesses.
Traffic Management
Traffic management arrangements for these works are approved jointly with members of the city's Traffic Management Review Panel, including Lothian Buses and the emergency services. Access through the site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Advanced warning signage will be erected in the vicinity of the Duke Street/Great Junction Street junction from week commencing Monday 2 August. From Wednesday 11 August temporary traffic lights will be installed at the junction to accommodate enabling works for the new traffic management expected to be operational from Thursday 12 August.
Parking will be suspended on Great Junction Street to westbound traffic from Leith Walk. This is required to ensure traffic flows are maintained. Double yellow lines will be installed to indicate these changes.
Bus stops near this junction will remain open but will be closely monitored and could be subject to change. Any updates will be communicated via Lothian Buses.
