York Place - Project Update
Work has been underway on Section Three of the CCWEL since September 2022 on Queen Street and North St David Street. Our work will start on York Place from Elder Street to Queen Street in early Jan.
This will require a full time closure of York Place to westbound traffic west of Elder Street from January until May 2023.
During this time local access will be maintained from Picardy Place to Elder Street, the Bus Station and the St James Quarter and a diversion will be in place for westbound traffic via Abercrombie Place. All traffic exiting Elder Street will be required to turn right to head eastbound on York Place.
If you are located within the closed section (between Elder Street and St David Street) then rear access along Clyde Street Lane will be maintained. However, if you have particular vehicular access concerns please contact us at ccwel@edinburgh.gov.uk. Footway access along York Place remains unaffected by the works.
