Manor Place Closure

Update on work planned for Manor Place and its junction with Melville Street.

The work  involves constructing a raised speed table to slow vehicles down when entering the cycleway area. As part of this process the existing road levels will be raised and a ramp put in at each end. Further to this a zebra crossing and new road markings will be installed. Future works to the street lighting as agreed with local residents will be carried out in spring 2023 but will not need further traffic management.

Road closure

So that we can safely and efficiently construct the speed table section, we will close Manor Place for five days as shown in the traffic management drawing. . Access and parking for residents will be retained as much as possible and all construction access will be from Melville Street only. The dates for this are Monday 27 March to Friday 31 March.

Disruption

During construction, pedestrian and traffic management measures will be installed and maintained to make sure the work is carried out safely for everyone, including residents, business and our workforce. Unfortunately, some disruption and noise is inevitable, but we will work with you to reduce the impact of the works as much as possible.
