Work on Melville Crescent

As part of the works at Melville Crescent we are changing the traffic management arrangements from Monday 12 August 2024.

This will affect Walker Street South where we will move the traffic from its current running lane onto the newly constructed road on the west side of Walker Street (outside House of Hearing/Barclays). Current traffic management on Melville Street and Walker Street North will not change at this time, however traffic will not be able to turn from Melville Street into Walker Street South.

Parking

Parking will be suspended on Melville Crescent and Walker Street as per the diagram overleaf. If you need access for non-regular deliveries or home moves, please email us with plenty of notice so we can support you  ccwel@edinburgh.gov.uk

Safety and minimising disturbance is our priority

During construction, pedestrian and traffic management measures are installed and maintained to make sure the work can be carried out safely for everyone, including residents, businesses and our workforce. We will reduce the impact of work as much as much as possible, but it is inevitable that major construction work will cause temporary periods of disturbance in the area. We will do our best to minimise this disturbance
