UK Parliament Election 2024

Ways to vote - in person

There are three ways to cast your vote.

In person

You can vote in person at your polling station. Find my polling place.

To vote in person you will need photo ID. Find out more about voter IDs and accepted forms of ID.

You will only need to show one form of photo ID. It needs to be the original version and not a photocopy. The photo on your ID must look like you. You can still use your ID even if it has expired.

You can apply for a free voter ID document, known as a Voter Authority Certificate, if

  • you do not have accepted photo ID
  • you no longer look like the photo on your ID
  • the name on your photo ID is different to your name on the electoral register.

You need to be registered to vote before you apply for a Voter Authority Certificate.

The deadline to register to vote for this election was midnight Tuesday 18 June 2024.

The deadline to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate for this election is 5pm Wednesday 26 June 2024.
