Vehicles registered outside of the UK
Entry into Edinburgh's low emission zone (LEZ) is based on the Euro emission engine classification standards that are used both internationally and nationally.
If your vehicle is not registered in the UK, it must comply with the minimum criteria of:
- Euro 4 for petrol cars and vans
- Euro 6 for diesel cars and vans.
If your vehicle complies with the standards then you will be able to drive it in Edinburgh's LEZ without incurring a penalty charge notice.
You do not need to register in advance and there is no mechanism for doing so.
