We support people with a variety of complex disabilities in our bright, spacious, purpose built daycentre setting which has a wonderful garden for green fingered activities. 

You will be supporting our customers to access its fantastic sensory rooms, adapted kitchen for regular cooking & baking, science & tech, re-bound therapy, music and arts & crafts spaces.  

We are looking for individuals who are caring and patient with a positive attitude and a good sense of humour. Don’t worry if you haven’t done this type of work before, as we offer full training and support.

What might a day in this role look like?

Our customers require either 2-1 or group care; your day will include helping them with their personal care, dressing, medication, communication, mobility, mealtimes and participating in their chosen activities. 

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with a skill or passion to share such as baking, music or photography – if you love it, this will shine through to the people you support, giving them a taste of new experiences whilst learning new skills.

While experience is great, we are really looking for people with the right values. You should have excellent communication skills and be flexible and empathetic.

Our positions are 9am - 3pm Monday - Friday (with weekend respite hours available), up to 30 hours per week - just speak to us about your availability. Overtime is available in our Short Break Respite service.

*Unfortunately we are unable to offer sponsorship for these roles due to the limitations of available hours. Sponsorship is available in other services throughout the organisation. 

What will I learn?

We will provide all relevant training which will include a mix of classroom based training / online learning and face to face shadowing / observations which will enable you to support individuals effectively and build your skills, experience and career.

You will require to register with SSSC and will be supported to complete SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care within allocated timeframe.

What qualifications/skills are required?

You don't need any specific qualifications or experience although experience of providing care would be an advantage. We are looking for someone who has the following qualities:

  • great communication and organisational skills
  • a positive enthusiastic approach with a willingness to learn
  • a creative drive to improve the lives of the individuals you support.
