Why we are improving the area for walking, wheeling and cycling
We want to build a more connected, welcoming environment for everyone in Edinburgh’s neighbourhoods and key travel corridors. Frogston Road East and Burdiehouse Road are key to this as they are main cycling and bus routes.
We have an approach to how space is allocated on the city’s streets, focusing on neighbourhoods, key transport corridors and the city centre. This called Our Future Streets – a circulation plan for Edinburgh. Read more about Our Future Streets plan.
This will help us to deliver our City Mobility Plan, for the sustainable, safe and effective movement of people and goods around Edinburgh.
The project will also help us to deliver our Local Development Plan Action Programme.
All of this work is driven by Edinburgh’s target of net zero by 2030.
